The NYC skyline is one of the world’s most famous and recognizable, which the guys at LEGO have recognized, with new build-it-yourself New York City skyline of five iconic NYC structures. It goes on sale in January, perhaps so it won’t take holiday sales away from the phenomenally popular LEGO Star Wars line.
The LEGO New York City Skyline kit includes The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, and the new One World Trade Center
A LEGO representative said these five structures “capture the architectural essence of NYC.”
It must have been a tough choice, since there are so many architectural essentials in NYC, including the Brooklyn Bridge, Met Museum, Guggenheim Museum, Woolworth Building, Staten Island Ferry and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
LEGO also sells individual NYC structures, including the Flatiron Building and Rockefeller Center, where there are LEGO Stores, and the UN Building.
There’s no word on pricing yet, but based on other items in the LEGO Architecture series, you can expect to pay around $150 for the New York City skyline.
Whatever the price, for sure it will be sold in the LEGO stores New York City, and at Toys R US in Times Square.
What would you suggest for additions to the LEGO line for NYC?
