The best place in NYC to avoid Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday is Chinatown. Sunday, Feb. 2 is the 15th Annual Chinese Lunar New Year Parade and Festival, with events throughout Chinatown and its border with Little Italy.
The parade starts at 1 p.m. at Mott St. at Hester St., and dragons, musicians and others march and dance their way along Mott to East Broadway, Eldridge and Forsythe Streets before ending in Sara D. Roosevelt Park for a street fair. This is the Year of the Horse, which could mean good luck for a football team called the Broncos. Better Chinatown website.
