Jaguar is showcasing its first ever completely electric SUV, the I-PACE, with an estimated battery range of 240 miles and can be recharged in under an hour to 80% battery charge. Two Jaguar-designed concentric motors – one over each axle – provide enough power to launch it 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds.
It will set you back around $75,000, but think of all the money you’ll save not buying gas.
The all-new 2018 Nissan LEAF, the world’s best-selling electric vehicle, was named the “2018 World Green Car” just before the auto show opened to the public, last week. The star of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s vision for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society.
It’s the first all-electric vehicle to win the World Green Car award since the category’s inception in 2016, the the vehicle’s second generation, now available in showrooms. The new Nissan LEAF combines greater range with a dynamic new design and safety features including ProPILOT Assist, e-Pedal, automatic emergency braking and more.
And, it’s made in the USA.
The 2019 BMW i8 Coupe is an enhanced hybrid 2+2 seater has increased power and range over its predecessor and has been the world’s best-selling hybrid sports car since 2014. Using optimized BMW eDrive technology, and with hybrid-specific all-wheel drive, combustion engine driving the rear wheels and the electric motor driving the front wheels, the BMW i8 Coupe achieves 369 hp (12 hp more than its predecessor), a peak torque of 184 lb-ft, and accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
The lithium-ion battery, located centrally in the car’s underbody, and its cell capacity has been increased from 20 to 34 Ah and a gross energy capacity from 7.1 to 11.6 kilowatt hours. The price starts at $147,500.
If you have a spare $1 Million, you can buy this 1,000-plus horsepower carbon-fiber all-electric supercar from Rimac, a small auto start-up in Croatia.
Among its other high-tech features are facial recognition camera to open the doors and start the engine.
