Time is running out to buy holiday cards that support Citymeals-on-Wheels. Each card you buy pays for a holiday meal for New York City’s housebound elderly. Citymeals delivers more than two million FREE meals a year in NYC.
There are four new Citymeals-on-Wheels holiday card designs for 2017, and each sends a message to the card’s recipient that you care about New York’s housebound elderly.
For your donation of $37 plus a $4 shipping and handling fee, you get five holiday cards. That sounds expensive until you realize that each card covers the cost of a holiday meal for one of your frail aged neighbors in New York City.
Each Citymeals-on-Wheels holiday card honors the person to whom you send it by delivering a meal in their name. So in addition to delivering your good wishes, each card delivers a nutritious holiday meal to an elderly New Yorker in need.
Orders of 100 or more can be personalized with your own holiday message, as well as your name or your company’s name and/or logo.
This year’s featured artists are:
Steve Savage: A children’s book author and illustrator, and a new participating artist.
Candace Whitman: An author and children’s book illustrator, also a first-time participating artist.
Shawne Cooper: She is a Saachi & Saachi Creative Director, and a previous participant.
Anne Watkins: A watercolor artist, and this is her fifth year participating in the program.
If you already have purchased other holiday cards, you can purchase Citymeals vellum inserts which notify recipients of your donation in their honor.

Last year this program raised $627,000 and delivered nearly 98,000 meals, by hand and with love.
Holiday cards ordered before Wednesday, December 13th are guaranteed to be delivered by Christmas.
Remember that the annual New York Cares annual winter coat drive is underway, too, where you can donate warm outerwear you no longer want or your kids have outgrown.

ABOUT CITYMEALS ON WHEELS
Citymeals on Wheels was co-founded in 1981 by longtime New York magazine restaurant critic, Gael Greene, and legendary cookbook author and teacher, James Beard, after learning thousands of their older neighbors had nothing to eat on weekends, holidays and emergencies.
Now in its 35th year of serving homebound elderly New Yorkers, Citymeals has delivered more than 56 million meals throughout the five boroughs, providing a lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to seniors in need.
Working in partnership with community-based organizations and senior centers, Citymeals prepares and delivers over more than 2 million meals for more than 18,000 of their frail aged neighbors each year. The organization has also maintained a fundamental promise since its founding: 100% of all public donations are used entirely for the preparation and delivery of meals.
