WOW! That’s both the name of the deal the name of the airline offering $99 flights to Europe from JFK, EWR and other East Coast cities including Miami and Boston.
The cheap flights from Iceland’s bargain airline WOW Air are to a dozen destinations including Paris, Amsterdam, London Stansted, Frankfurt, Dublin, Copenhagen and Berlin.
Note that WOW international flights are not non-stop. All flights go through Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city and international airport, which adds travel time.
Also note that the rock-bottom $99 price gets you a boarding ticket and right to carry on one “personal item”.
If you want to check luggage, take a conventional carry-on bag in addition to that handbag or briefcase or change your reservation, it will cost up to $200 or more each way, depending on the date and the destination.
Buy the $99 tickets now for dates starting April 26, 2018, when JFK service begins. There also are $99 flights out of EWR and other US cities already on the airline’s timetable.
WOW already flies out of Newark Liberty International Airport, and is expanding service to 13 flights per week starting in May 2018.
My search, to Frankfurt in May, brought up tickets priced at $99, $189, $249 and $319 each way, depending on the date, although the higher-priced tickets include a checked bag and ticket change privileges.
To celebrate the new JFK route, special prices are available out of the following US cities to select locations:
From Newark (EWR), Cleveland (CLE) and Cincinnati (CVG)
- to Paris (CDG), Amsterdam (AMS), London (STN), Frankfurt (FRA), Dublin (DUB), Copenhagen (CPH) and Berlin (SXF) via Iceland.
