Do you prefer dancing to a live band or to a DJ? You can do both on summer Sundays at Orchard Beach and at Coney Island, at FREE family-friendly salsa dance programs on the beach, and enjoy cooling breezes while you break on 2.
Bring a picnic and a bathing suit and make a day of it. Note that you’ll be dancing on cement or other flooring that’s not friendly to expensive or favorite suede-soled dance shoes, so leave them at home.
Orchard Beach Concert Series is an annual music and dance series with live bands at the Main Stage kiosk, Section 9, on most Sundays through Labor Day weekend, Noon to 5pm..
Orchard Beach Salsa Sundays is a Bronx summer tradition for more than 50 years, also through Labor Day weekend. Local DJs play pure classic salsa and cha cha in a big open cement area next to the Boardwalk and beach. Hosted by DJ Carlos Santiago, 1pm to 5pm.
Salsa Sundays at Coney Island is at the Boardwalk and West 15th St. in the area next to the Thunderbolt Ride, sponsored by Men of Salsa NYC, with DJs. Approximately 2:30pm to 7pm, through Sunday, August 1th.
See you on the dance floor!
