Avoid complaint of “I’m bored” this spring break week by taking the kids or the grandkids to one or more of these special family-friendly events, including FREE admission to top New York City attractions.
Admission to 400 National Park Service sites nationwide is FREE today, President’s Day.
Celebrate US presidents in NYC by visiting, and take a FREE tour with Park Rangers:
- Federal Hall National Monument on Wall Street, where George Washington took the oath of office as first US president
- Grant’s Tomb National Monument on 125th Street, where Ulysses S. Grant and his wife are buried
- Hamilton Grange National Monument in Hamilton Heights/Washington Heights, where Hamilton lived
February Break Discovery Days at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden are FREE. Explore exotic habitats from around the world and have some hands-on science fun during the midwinter school break. Kids learn to use their senses to investigate plants and objects firsthand and find out how plants survive in environments from deserts to rainforests. Explore the lush conservatories on scavenger hunts, listen to stories in the Library, and pot up a plant to bring home.
BBG admission is FREE weekdays the entire month of February. BBG is open 10am to 4:30pm all week. The family workshops are 11am to 1pm.
Kids Week at the Intrepid features daily workshops and events, such as a pop-up planetarium, visiting NASA astronauts and book authors, and more. Events are FREE with museum admission. Check the website for daily schedule details.
