Daily Provision – Union Square’s less-expensive casual off-spring is now open, next door to the highly regarded restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch, takeout bakery and main course items and more. with bakery items, rotisserie kitchen and more.
Freebie Friday – FREE admission to NYC museums including MOMA. No passes or coupons needed. Just go.
Freebie Friday: Family Fridays at MoMath – Solve puzzles, family-style, and learn how math affects everything, from music to space flight. 6:30pm, FREE. The National Museum of Mathematics is at 11 E. 26th St.
Freebie Friday – FREE Grand Central Neighborhood Tour. Every Friday at 12:30, docents from the Grand Central Partnership guide you through the history of the fabled Grand Central Terminal and some equally-fabled nearby landmarks including the Chrysler Building. There are no tickets, no reservations. Just meet at Sculpture court at 120 Park Avenue (southwest corner of East 42nd Street). Tour is 90 minutes.
Saturday, Feb. 11th
Central Park Ice Festival 2017 – Ice carving demonstrations, free skiing and snowboarding lessons, a silent disco and more. Perhaps including a snowball fight or two.
Lunar New Year Family Festival – Music and dance, calligraphy workshops and more. 11am – 4pm at the Museum of Chinese in America, 215 Centre Street, between Grand and Howard Streets. Free with museum admission.
Lunar New Year Celebration at Brookfield Place – Chinese dance and music, including the dynamic and colorful Lion Parade, with performers from the New York Chinese Cultural Center, a martial arts demonstration, and more. FREE, 1:30pm to 3:3pm.
