World’s Largest Menorah – Welcome Hanukkah with the traditional lighting at Grand Army Plaza at Fifth Ave. and 59th Street.
Family Day at the Museum of the City of New York – Crafts activities, games and more. Plus FREE Blue Marble ice cream for kids of all ages. Free with museum admission. Museum of the City of New York is at Fifth Ave. and 103rd St.
Sunday in NYC
Gene Wilder Movie Marathon – We lost the beloved funnyman this year. See one or more of three favorite Gene Wilder movies – Blazing Saddles, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and The Frisco Kid, at this special holiday screening on the Upper West Side. Films are $7 each.
Monday in NYC
Kwanzaa Crawl – Sixteen Brooklyn bars and restaurants are participating in this first-ever holiday bar crawl to support Black-owned businesses.
Smorgasburg and Winter Flea – The popular food and crafts market in Brooklyn is indoors for the winter, at Skylight One Hanson with 75 Brooklyn Flea vendors selling vintage, antiques, clothing, and handmade items, alongside 25 Smorgasburg food vendors. It’s a shopping and eating and drinking experience (there are two bars) and part museum-style field trip to the stunning landmark interior that was once home to the Williamsburg Savings Bank. Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm. $1 entry, kids 16 and under FREE.
- Special holiday hours to 8pm. Closing at 3pm Christmas Eve, closed Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Opens again the first weekend in January 2017.
