This is a win-win: Denny’s is serving free pancakes to kids, and partnering with No Kid Hungry to raise money to fight childhood hunger in America. The program Free Pancakes for Kids offer is through Sunday, Oct. 2.
Kids eat free when a grown-up with them pays for an entree – and – hopefully donates something to the No Kid Hungry campaign. To-date, Denny’s has been able to donate more than $3.3 million to No Kid Hungry during this annual promotion. 2016 is the sixth year Denny’s is doing this.
- Sweet September – Also in September, eat for a cause at 30 New York City restaurants supporting Citymeals on Wheels, which provides FREE meals for the housebound elderly. Each restaurant is providing a portion of proceeds to support Citymeals.
Through No Kid Hungry, every $1 donation received provides a child with 10 healthy meals, so even the smallest of donations has a big impact.
To thank customers for donations, Denny’s also gives you a discount coupon redeemable at participating locations on your next visit.
Denny’s is serving kids its new stacks, made with fresh buttermilk, real eggs and a hint of vanilla. For the first time are offered in variety of new kid-sized signature dishes, including the Jr. Cinnamon Pancakes, Jr. Strawberries & Cream Pancakes and Chocolate Chip Pancakes.
Kids ages 10 and under can get any of these dishes FREE any day in September, from 4PM to 10PM, with the purchase of one adult entrée, at participating locations.
“Share My Strength’s No Kid Hungry program is one of the most recognizable annual anti-hunger campaigns in the nation and we’re proud to have the ability to partner with this worthy organization for the sixth year in a row,” John Dillon, Denny’s chief marketing officer, tells NYCOTC in a press release.
“At Denny’s, we know a meal is essential to a child’s well-being and can be directly linked to their academic, health and economic futures. We remain committed to working together with our team members and guests to combat childhood hunger and hope to see even more success this year.”
Nearly 1,600 Denny’s restaurants nationwide are participating in the Free Pancakes for Kids program.
This year, Denny’s will also donate $1 to No Kid Hungry every time the hashtag #ShareMySlam is shared on Twitter and Instagram, giving all of us – customers or not – another way to help this important cause.
