See the best new short films for children next week at MAD in Columbus Circle. The Children’s Film Festival at MAD is FREE with museum admission and features animated shorts from around the world.
Make friends with a monster. Uncover a mystery. Visit a foreign country — or a foreign planet. The showings at MAD are in partnership with the New York International Children’s Film Festival, held each year in February, which always invites you and your imagination to explore new frontiers through the best new film shorts. MAD, of course, is the Museum of Arts and Design, which also has great family arts and crafts workshops on some weekends.
Children’s Film Festival schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, August 3 – 10:30 am for Best of the Fest: Kid Flix 1, recommended for ages 3 to 7, and again at 1 pm for Best of the Fest: Kid Flix 2, for ages 8 and up.
Friday, August 5 – Best of the Fest: Kid Flix 2 showing at 10:30 am and Best of the Fest: Kid Flix 1 at 1 pm.
This program is free with museum admission; visitors under 18 are admitted free. Children 13 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
