Like flowers, outdoor food courts bloom in the spring, in pedestrian-only spaces, featuring local NYC artisanal producers and outposts of locally-owned NYC restaurants. The latest is the one in the Garment District, returning to the pedestrian mall on Broadway from 39th to 41st Streets. the Broadway pedestrian malls in the heart of the historic New York district.
UrbanSpace Garment District a is month-long food fest, May 16 to June 24, 11am to 8pm daily, with choices to eat there at the bistro tables, or take home.
Here are some of the vendor choices, described by NY Eater:
Casa Toscana: Formerly Gelato Ti Amo, this stand will serve coffee, pastries, gelato and more.
Hai Street Kitchen & Co: Handheld sushi burritos.
Emmett’s: Chicago native and founder Emmett Burke is serving Second City favorites like deep dish pizza an Italian beef sandwiches.
Masa: A tamale stand serving a variety of options, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan.
Delicatessen Taco: An offshoot of Macondo (previously known as Taco Bono), serving tacos with house-smoked meats and a Michelada bar.
Returning vendors: Paella Shack, Red Hook Lobster Pound, MMM Enfes Turkish Food, Jicama “California Street Food,” Bangkok Bar, La Sonrisa Empanadas, Black Iron Burger, Melt Bakery, Bijoux Macarons, Frida’s Favorites, Domo Taco
The Garment District outdoor food court joins Madison Sq. Eats, in Flatiron, as a seasonal pop-up gourmet food location.
