Getting older has its perks, including special freebies. On Thurs., Oct. 8th, 2015, if you’re age 62 or older you can visit any National Park, from the Statue of Liberty to Yellowstone for FREE. Senior Skip Day celebrates the National Park system’s 100th birthday.
See the NYCOTC page of discounts for seniors at restaurants, suspermarkets, hotels and retailers.
Humana, the health insurance company, is hosting Senior Skip Day for seniors age 62+.
In addition to free park entry, a limited quantity of lifetime vouchers for National Park access is available for download.
Download the voucher before they run out. Then, on October 8th, take the voucher to any National Park Site where interagency passes are listed and you can get a lifetime pass. You’ll need to bring ID.
This list contains the sites where you can get your lifetime pass on October 8th. The closest one to New York City is the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace on the East Side, but not the Statue of Liberty.
