Shine up your chain mail, gird your loins, and take thee hence to Camelot on the Hudson. There will be jousts with knights on horseback, falconry demonstrations, readings from Chaucer, magicians who learned from Merlin not Houdini, Medieval style food and drink, and all kinds of activities for the kids, including puppets and a dragon, because you can’t have a medieval fair without a dragon.
And it’s all free, m’ lords and ladies, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Fort Tyron Park, of course, is home to The Cloisters, the art-filled Medieval tower that crowns Manhattan’s highest hill, in Inwood. Click here for an hourly schedule of events. Nearest subway stops are the A train to 190th St. or Dyckman St.
FWIW — NYC on the Cheap founder and editor Evelyn Kanter grew up in Inwood, and Fort Tryon was “my” park.
