The world-famous branch of the NY Public Library has played a pivotal role within Caribbean communities in New York City. This annual celebration features attendees representing their home island with paraphernalia and flags.
Friday, Sept. 4th is First Fridays at the Schomburg, always a special evening of music, dancing, talks by special guests and more. This month’s Carnival is hosted by Humble Prince from Sahara FM, with deejays DJ Trini and DJ Craig Nice in the Langston Hughes Lobby and DJ Kwiss in the courtyard, plus surprise guests.

Attendance is FREE, but registration is required to ensure space. Register here. Know that the Schomburg normally overbooks to ensure a full house. All registered seats are released 15 to 30 minutes before start time, so we recommend that you arrive early.
It’s 6pm to 10 pm at the Schomburg, 515 Malcolm X Blvd, at 135th St.
