Dancing in the Park is outdoors, 5PM to 8PM, in Jackie Robinson Park, Bradhurst Ave. at 147th St., commemorating another dance here 80 years ago, when the park was called Colonial Park, and when Harlem was the center of the world of jazz, big band and lindy and swing dancing.
The lesson is 5PM to 6PM, and the orchestra plays 6PM to 8PM.
The Harlem Renaissance plays top dance music from the days when Harlem was the center of the blues, jazz and dance universe, and legends including Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Callaway and Louis Armstrong kept everybody dancing.
Duke Ellington would tell you to Take the A Train. Jackie Robinson Park website.
