Monday: FREE lecture on Superstorm Sandy and climate change, and what we need to do to protect ourselves and our cities in the future. The illustrated talk is by Adam Sobel, a professor of environmental sciences at Columbia University. 6:30pm at the Mid-Manhattan Library, across Fifth Avenue from the main branch with the lions out front.
Tuesday: It’s Ben and Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day, to help you sweeten up the sour taste in your mouth from last-minute tax form frustration.

Thursday: FREE lecture on the legendary literary giants of The Algonquin Round Table, that gathering of NYC writers, critics actors and wits who met there regularly for lunch, at a round table. Also at the Mid-Manhattan Library, at 6:30pm. My personal favorite quote from the Round Table was by Dorothy Parker: “Men never make passes at girls who wear glasses”.
