Save the date for NYC’s Thunderbird American Indian Dancers annual FREE dance workshop and crafts sale on Saturday, March 21st. The Thunderbirds represent tribes from the southwest of Arizona to the northwest of New York State, and their performances and workshops support scholarships for Native American students.
Their dancing and drumming is spectacular, and members are teaching the basics of steps from traditional dances like the Eagle Dance, Hoop Dance or Jingle Dance in this free family-friendly workshop. There also is a sale of Native American crafts made by the members, all of whom live in the New York City area, so you can stock up on turquoise and coral necklaces and lovely beaded jewelry and hair accessories, all at bargain prices.
The dance workshop and crafts sale is 7 PM to 10 PM at the American Indian Community House, 254 West 29th Street, 4th floor, between 7th and 8th Avenues.
