There is no subway service in parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens on weekends this month on a a good chunk of the NYC subway system. The shutdowns are from 10pm Friday through 5am Monday, so don’t get caught as I did last weekend.
2 trains are not running between 96th Street and Third Ave./149th St. in Bronx.
3 trains are shut down this weekend for their entire length, between Harlem/148th in Manhattan and New Lots Ave. in Brooklyn
5 trains are not running between Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan to East 180th St. in Bronx
6 trains are not running between Whitlock Ave. and Buhre Ave. in Bronx
7 trains are not running between Times Square/42nd St. and 74th St./Broadway in Queens.
C and E trains are not running between Spring St. and 50th St./Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
The MTA is providing free shuttle bus service between non-served stations, but expect big crowds and long waits, since more people can fit on a subway car than in a bus.
Stay up to date on weekend subway shut-downs with the MTA Weekender app. That’s how I found out what’s not running this weekend. It’s a FREE app, and can save you both time and aggravation.
