FREE screening of the popular web series An African City, presented by Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and the African Film Festival. The screening is Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6:30pm, followed by a panel discussion with executive producer Millie Monyo and lead actresses from the series. An innovative portrayal of the African woman, this web series depicts five beautiful, successful African females who confide in one another about love and life. The series, written, directed and created by Nicole Amarteifio, stars Maame Adjei, MaameYaa Boafo, Esosa E, Marie Humbert and Nana Mensah as five friends living in Accra, Ghana. City Bakery’s annual Hot Chocolate Festival continues this week with a different hot chocolate concoction each day. Today, it’s White Chocolate Waltz, and later this week there’s “Happy” Hot Chocolate (Wednesday), French Follies (Thursday) and Bourbon Hot Chocolate (Friday).
