Birthday freebies are one of the ways businesses reward loyal customers. Sign up on a company’s website to get coupons and discounts year-round along with something extra special on your birthday.
Today is my birthday, and I’m celebrating with some of the gifts received from stores and restaurants.
Here’s some of what I’ve received:
Chico’s: Join the chain’s Passport frequent shopper club, and in addition to getting free shipping year round and other discounts, you’ll get a $10 coupon to use within two weeks of your birthday. I love Chico’s traveler knits, stretch jeans and sweaters.
Chili’s: A coupon for a free dessert with the purchase of an entree. I’m not likely to use this, because there are restaurants I would rather be for my birthday, plus Chili’s offers coupons for a free dessert or appetizer nearly every week, and we feature them regularly here on NYC on the Cheap, as we did earlier this week.
Rent the Runway: A coupon for $25 off my next rental. For whatever reason, they sent this to me on Feb 1 to use by Feb. 15, at least a week before I would need something special for my birthday. Thanks anyway, RTR. Maybe next year.
Boden: A $10 coupon to use on my next purchase, before March 15.
Sephora: Sign up for Beauty Insiders and get a free mascara and lipstick on your birthday. I can always use a new mascara and lipstick!

Happy birthday to me, and to anybody else anywhere celebrating a birthday on February 25th.
