The location across the street from St. Patrick’s Cathedral was the one of the first H&Ms to open in New York City, and now that the Swedish-based retailer has opened its flagship in Times Square and another store at 48th and Fifth, it just doesn’t need three stores within eight blocks.
There’s no information on the absolute final day for the store, and only rumors about what retailer might move in after H&M moves out by the end of January 2015.
This will leave an even dozen H&M locations in New York City, including in Soho, Columbus Circle, Harlem and across from both Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s. Click here to find an H&M in New York or nationwide.
Also check out Uniqlo, the Japanese discount retailer with a growing presence in NYC, also with outposts in Soho, Herald Square, and a flagship location at 666 Fifth Avenue, at 53rd St., two blocks from the H&M location being shuttered.
