Funny Songs from Stage and Screen: Watch videos of funny songs from some of the best Broadway and Hollywood musicals, in this FREE lecture by music historian Mel Haber. Songs included are from several of my personal favorites, including from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Music Man, Gigi, Singing in the Rain and Guys and Dolls. Sing along at the Mid-Manhattan Library, across Fifth Avenue from the main branch with the lions out front. Program starts t 6:30pm
Great Organ Recital: Cathedral of St. John the Divine is celebrating the restoration of its great, grand organ with FREE 30-minute concerts on Mondays at 1pm. The cathedral is at 112th St. and Amsterdam Avenue.

Polar Bear Swim: Join or watch members of The Polar Bear Club start 2015 with their annual plunge into the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island. Anyone can participate, and the $20 suggested donation supports Camp Sunshine and Camp Snowflake, NYC area getaways for children with life-threatening illnesses. Be ready with warm clothes for after your swim, and bring your own towel.
