The 22nd Annual African Diaspora International Film Festival begins tomorrow on the Upper West side, with 80 films. It’s a mix of documentaries, dramas, and short films set in places such as the United States, South Africa, France, Venezuela and Brazil.
The film festival runs through December 14th at several UWS locations, including Symphony Space, Columbia University and Riverside Church. The final film is a documentary about the anthropologist Stanley Ann Dunham and her young son, Barack Obama.
In addition to the film screening with a ticket purchase, viewers have the opportunity to attend receptions and to hear from filmmakers during question-and-answer sessions after selected film screenings. Tickets are $10 to $45 directly from the African Diaspora International Film Festival.
