NYC on the Cheap followers are not the type to pay $150 or more for a ticket to a New York Fashion Week runway show. But we can take advantage of the fashionable freebies being offered, from free donuts and coffee to free manicures and make-up. Here’s a partial list of what’s being offered starting today:
Free hair styling and make-up touch-ups: Birchbox is turning its Soho store into a salon, today through next Thursday, Sept. 11th, offering braids courtesy of Amika, make-up touch-ups by Cynthia Rowley cosmetics and more. Appointments are required, including for the paid services.
Free manicures: Today, through 2 PM, get a free polish change from cityMANI at the Hotel Belleclaire near Lincoln Center. Tomorrow, the polish people are at the Cosmopolitan Hotel Tribeca from 10 AM to 2 PM. Monday, at the The Washington Jefferson Hotel 10am and 2pm, or Tuesday at The Gershwin Hotel from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Free make-up applications: Glamour magazine is sponsoring free make-up applications, skin care treatments, even eyebrow styling, from brands including Maybelline, Armani, Garnier and Philosophy. Noon to 7 PM, Friday-Sunday, Sept 5-7, at Chelsea Market, 310 West 16th Street.
Free coffee and donuts: Designer MM.LaFleur has teamed with Carpe Donut NYC to hand out free apple cider donuts and coffee. Since it will be in a different location every morning, Monday to Friday, Sept 8-12, you’ll have to follow the designer on Twitter @mmlafleur to find out where.
