See the ballet version of one of the world’s most famous love stories for discount ticket prices of just $10-$25. The star-crossed lovers of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet leap and glide across the stage for one weekend only in a special version featuring Sergei Prokofiev’s 1935 score, instead of the more familiar Tchaikovsky music, to choreography by Francis Patrelle.
This timeless tale features a mix of professional dancers and talented ballet students as part of Dances Patrelle’s goal of educating youth, so it’s an ideal introduction to ballet for children, and the ticket prices are a lot cheaper than the annual The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center.
Performances are one weekend only, Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 11-13, and discount tickets for Saturday are already sold out. Click here for tickets. Regular prices are $35-$50. Performances are at the Kaye Theater at Hunter College on the UES.
