It’s another busy summer weekend for FREE events, so you can enjoy NYC on the cheap. Because NYCOTC believes you can be cheap and still have fun in the greatest city in the world. Unless mentioned otherwise, street fairs are 10 AM to 6 PM.
Free in NYC on Saturday:
Charlie Parker Jazz Festival: Four hours of free music celebrating the celebrated jazz artist, 3 PM to 7 PM at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. SummerStage event
Stargazing at the Intrepid: Local astronomers are on hand with high-powered telescopes to help you navigate the night sky and answer questions. Plus, there are hands-on astronomy demonstrations inside the museum. Registration is required to attend.
Broadway Festival: Street fair on Broadway between Waverly Place and 14th Street
Midtown West Block Party: Street fair on 52nd Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, ends at 4.PM
Free in NYC on Sunday:
Pakistan Day Parade: Colorful dancers and musicians celebrate one of the largest communities in NYC. Parade starts at 11 AM, marching up Madison Avenue from 23rd to 38th Street.
Amsterdam Avenue Festival : On Amsterdam Ave, between 79th and 86th Streets.
Eighth Avenue Festival: On Eighth Avenue, between 42nd and 57th Streets.
