Grab your partner and enjoy sunset salsa dancing to live Latin bands at the High Line. There are three ¡Arriba! Dance Parties this season, on the last Wednesday of June, July and August. That means the first one is Wednesday, June 25th.
Some of New York City’s best transform the park into an open-air dance floor at sunset. The dances are being held 7PM to 9PM at the Chelsea Passage outdoor space at 16th St. Event website.
Here’s the schedule:
Wednesday, June 25
Orlando Marin, the Last Mambo King, and his dynamic band from the Bronx kick off ¡Arriba! with traditional salsa and merengue rhythms that get visitors of all ages shaking to the beat of the timbales drums.
Wednesday, July 23
Sonido Costeño transcends salsa by bringing together guaracha, merengue, bachata, and American jazz influences – a harmonious blend that is sure to bring listeners to their feet.
Wednesday, August 27
Inspired by the guajiro musical rhythms of Cuba, Nu D’Lux of New York City offers a funky mix of son montuno, rumba, danzon, and timba styles to close out the ¡Arriba! series.
And remember, Midsummer Night Swing starts tonight in Lincoln Center.
See you on the dance floor!
