This May/June weekend is packed with free and frugal family-friendly events in NYC. As always, nothing on the NYCOTC list is more than $20, because we believe you can be cheap and still have fun in the greatest city on the planet. Unless otherwide notes, these NYC events are FREE.
Governors Island Family Day Festival: Saturday, 10AM to 5PM. The Governors Island summer schedule opens with this annual festival. See full NYCOTC posting earlier this week for details.
Drums Along the Hudson: Native American dancing, drumming, storytelling and more in Inwood Hill Park, where Peter Minuit bought an island from the Lenape or Manhatta tribe back in the 1600s. See full recent NYCOTC posting for details.
Salute to Israel parade: Everybody loves a parade, and this is one of the best. The annual parade is Sunday, on Fifth Avenue, 11AM to 4PM, from 57th to 74th Streets.
Family Swing Dance Day in Lincoln Center: lessons and dancing on Sunday. See full NYCOTC posting earlier this week.
World’s Fair Train Show: Working model trains exhibit, part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1964 World’s Fair. See full NYCOTC posting earlier this week.
Have fun and be a NYC cheapskate with NYC on the Cheap.
