The 2014 New York Auto Show opening this week offers up the best new cars, including a first look at the 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan. It’s a definite best buy with a starting price of $11,990, which includes a hands-free phone system as standard equipment, not a pricey option.
The sub-compact Versa has been the best-selling model in its class for four years. It’s an ideal NYC car – small enough to wiggle into just about any parking space, a roomy 14.9 cubic feet of cargo space, and more rear legroom than many mid-size sedans. And as important as the low price is the high fuel efficiency –
Fuel economy for the 2015 Versa Sedan is rated at 31 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 35 mpg combined with the Xtronic transmission. Versa Sedan models equipped with the 5-speed manual offers 27 /36/30 mpg, and models equipped with the 4-speed automatic-equipped models are rated at 26/35/30 mpg
All of that gives the 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan a NYC on the Cheap rating of driving on the cheap.
Nissan also is introducing the all-new upgraded 2015 Murano SUV at the NY Auto Show. I got a preview recently, and it’s a stunner, including for its panoramic roof. The 2014 New York International Auto Show, which opens to the public on Friday, April 18th for ten days. It’s at the Javits, of course.
NYCOTC editor Evelyn Kanter is also an automotive journalist, and I’ll be test driving some of the new cars in the days before the auto show starts. Yes, you should feel sorry for me. Read my new car reviews on NYCOTC sister website ecoXplorer, where there’s a page of best cars under $20,000
See this and approximately 1,000 other new cars and trucks at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, April 18-27, at the Javits.
