There are always free and frugal family-friendly events to enjoy in NYC on weekends, and this weekend is no exception. As always, nothing on the NYCOTC list of what to do this weekend costs more than $15, because you can be a NYC cheapskate or NYC miser and still have fun in the greatest city in the world – if you know where to look, and we do.
Japan Week at Grand Central Terminal – See cultural demonstrations and sample Japanese food at this annual celebration of all hings Japanese at Vanderbilt Hall through tomorrow. FREE, of course. Full NYCOTC posting.
The Whole Megillah, a Purim play for kids – Enjoy a FREE puppet version of the story of how Queen Esther saved her people, and enjoy Purim hamantaschen and a Purim art project afterward. Sunday, 2-4 p.m. at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th St. in Flatiron. RSVPs are recommended to ensure space. Email [email protected]
Beetlemania – Celebrate, and remember, the 50th anniversary of the arrival of The Beetles in New York City on their first concert and TV appearance tour. This FREE exhibit opened last month to huge crowds, who are mostly gone now, so you can have the place to yourself and your memories of the Fab Four and the music that changed the world. Full NYCOTC posting.
Have fun and be a NYC cheapskate with NYC on the Cheap.
