After 21 years at the corner of 39th St. and Fifth Avenue, DataVision is moving to Flatiron, and clearing out computers, cameras, large screen TVs and more at up to 80% off. The sale is just through the weekend, so there’s just a few days left to grab a great bargain.
DataVision is moving to 23rd St., between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, close to Home Depot, Best Buy and P. C. Richard. This will be a much smaller store than the current three-floor location, so there will be fewer items on the shelves and more items than stocked currently will be available electronically, via a collection of touchscreen panels, available for same-day delivery. DataVision is building a new distribution center on the West Side to back up its warehouse in Long Island City.
The touchscreens for this state-of-the-art digital showroom reportedly will vary from 27 inches for digital cameras to 90 inches for TVs, so you can virtually experience the products in their actual sizes.
DataVision is being pushed out of midtown by a combination of rising rates and the popularity of mobile shopping.
DataVision also told electronics trade publication Twice that they are planning to open additional locations in Columbus Circle, and in Lower Manhattan, within the next year or two.
