There always are free and frugal family-friendly events to enjoy in NYC on weekends, and NYOTC likes to share the news with fellow cheapskates and misers. As always, nothing on the NYC on the Cheap list of weekend events and activities costs more than $15, because NYCOTC believes you can be a NYC cheapskate and still have fun in the greatest city in the world. Unless otherwise noted, events are FREE.

New York Transit Museum Holiday Train Show at Grand Central, Centennial Edition –The holidays are over and the tourists have gone home, and the Super Bowl XLVIII crowd hasn’t arrived yet, so this is a good weekend to enjoy the train show.
