See FREE screenings of Native American animated films during the annual Animation Celebration at the Museum of the American Indian in Battery Park, daily through March 2nd. As a branch of the Smithsonian, admission to NMAI is always free.
This year, film festival showcases celebrates the artistic style of Anishinaabe artist Norval Morrisseau, whose work is featured in the current exhibition Before and After the Horizon. Depending on the day of the week, there are two or three daily screenings, and times vary. Click here for the schedule. All screenings will be held in the Screening Room on the Second Floor.
The Museum f the American Indian features artifacts and histories, including oral histories, of native peoples from the Arctic to the Antarctic, although most displays are about the Native Americans of North America.
