Times Square – FREE – Be part of a new midnight celebration any night of the week. It’ called Midnight Moment, and it is a three-minute digital extravaganza on 15 huge outdoor digital screens in Times Square. It starts at 11:57 PM each evening, until midnight. It’s a daily digital show featuring different digital video artists. Through January 31, the featured artists are Taxiplam and Jonathan Henry.
Sony Wonder Lab — The kids can build their own motorized robot Saturday at this special two-hour sci-tech workshop, 11 AM to 1 PM. Space is limited, so be sure to register on the website or by phone. The Sony Wonder Lab is always free, but the workshop is $10 for participants. Suitable for kids eight and older. Sony Wonder Lab is at Madison Avenue and 56th St.
Morris Jumel Mansion — Celebrate Alexander Hamilton’s birthday on Saturday with a lecture about his importance to American history, and his importance to New York City history. Hamilton was a close advisor to George Washington and the first US Secretary of the Treasury. He also founded the newspaper the New York Post. The lecture is free but registration is required.
