Congratulations to Brooklyn Brewery, the first American craft beer manufacturer to open a brewery overseas. It’s taken Brooklyn Brewery two decades of hard work to hop (pun intended) into the big leagues.
The Williamsburg-based brewery is partnering with Danish brewer Carlsberg and a Swedish investment group, D. Carnegie & Co., to open a brewery in Stockholm called the Brooklyn-New Carnegie Brewery. The new company will develop a line of beers for distribution in Europe, where small-batch craft beers have been popular for centuries. The Stockholm brewery also will sell Brooklyn Brewery products imported from Brooklyn, where the company’s products are already popular.
Back home in Brooklyn, the brewery has FREE factory tours on weekends, and a regular happy hour on Fridays with $4 beers on tap.
