If you are a skier — as I am — this chance to win a FREE ski vacation in Switzerland for two is well worth entering. The grand prize is three nights each in the Matterhorn village of Zermatt and in Villars-Gryon with daily breakfasts, dinners and ski passes, plus airfare and more. The sweepstakes is sponsored by the Swiss airline, which in typical Swiss efficiency is named, simply, SWISS, and includes a train pass on the equally efficient Swiss Rail system.
The free vacation sweepstakes is open only to people who live in the United States, for one of the SWISS airline international gateways, New York’s JFK or Newark Liberty, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Click here for contest rules, and enter before December 31, 2012 turns into January 1, 2013.
I’m lucky enough to have skied in both Zermatt and Villars. Zermatt is at the foot of the Matterhorn, which is literally in your face for many of the runs. The views and the skiing are equally memorable, and from the top of Zermatt, you can ski down into Cortina in Italy. Zermatt is in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, while Villars is in the French-speaking part, although nearly everybody speaks English.
Good luck, and let us know if you win.
