The new Brooklyn Night Bazaar is modeled on the popular night markets in Chang Mai, Thailand, and Taipei, Taiwan, and other cities. That means rows of vendors crowded together, often sharing battery-powered lights. Granted, Williamsburg isn’t quite as exotic as Thailand or Taiwan, but the offerings here will please both bargain-hunters and hipsters. There are food vendors, too, since holiday shopping burns calories (along with credit card limits). Brooklyn Night Bazaar is open 6 pm to midnight every Friday and Saturday night through December 22nd, at 45 North Fifth Street, between Wythe and Kent Streets. Note — if you are going by public transportation, it’s a long, dark walk and pretty isolated walk from the nearest L stop on Bedford Ave.
