Thanks to Nike and Converse for funding a new skateboarding park in NYC’s Hudson River Park. The new Pier 62 Skate Park is a 15,000 square foot extravaganza that is one of the largest concrete bowls for boarders in New York.
The updated park opens today, Sunday, July 1st. Later this month, the skate park will be the site of Carnage New York, a FREE two-day event celebrating skateboarding and music.
Carnage New York is Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21, with a skateboarding demonstration hosted by Converse Skateboarding Ambassadors Kenny Anderson and Nick Trapasso, along with the entire Converse Skateboarding team, a music concert, and art activations that will encourage skateboarding creativity.
The second installment of City Carnage: NYC returns to Hudson River Park on Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 with a similar skateboarding event Friday, and a free concert Saturday with Converse Rubber Tracks artist VIVA VIVA opening and The Kills headlining the event. Pier 62 is at 22nd Street and the Hudson River.
