The Prospect Park Carousel turns 100 this year, and the historic horses are celebrating by letting you ride them for FREE all day Sunday, June 10th. The birthday party also includes family-friendly activities during the day. It’s the kick-off for a season-long birthday celebration. The Prospect Park Carousel is in the Children’s Corner of the historic park. The rest of the year, rides cost $2 per person, or $9 for a book of five rides. Or, join the Prospect Park Alliance for $100 or more and your four favorite people receive unlimited rides all year. The beautiful and historic carousel is open Thursdays through Sundays, plus Memorial Day (Monday, May 28th) and the Fourth of July, which is a Wednesday this year. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. through June, and noon to 6 p.m. in July and August and on holidays.
