We may be still catching up from the Memorial Day weekend, but it’s not too early to start planning for the Fourth of July. The best place to see the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks display is from a boat in New York Harbor. Of course, there are limited spots available on the sightseeing boats and dance party boats that make special Fourth of July Fireworks cruises, from your choice of docks on the East River or Hudson River. These are the two least expensive choices I could find, so if you are interested, buy tickets soonest, before the boats sell out.
Harbor Lights Yacht is a family friendly cruise, with a full buffet and open bar for the festivities. Prices are $135 per person. Best bet is to buy a table of four at $215, which cuts the per person price in half. You must know three other people, kids included. The Harbor Lights Yacht docks at the marina at the East River and 23rd St.
Tickets for the New York Princess IndepenDANCE Day Fireworks Cruise are discounted for a limited time, at $125, and go up to $165 soon. This is for three hours of open bar, a DJ, and a full buffet dinner — but you’ll have to eat standing up, since the $125 price is standing room only. Thedocks at Chelsea Piers, on the Hudson River at 23rd St.
These are the two least expensive NYC Fourth of July fireworks cruises. There are several other dinner cruise options, but they are all on the other side of $200, which is not NYC on the Cheap, fireworks on the cheap, or NYC Fourth of July on the cheap.
