In honor of the 100th Birthday of Julia Child, the New School is offering a lecture celebrating the role of women in restaurant kitchens, as professional chefs and owners. The lecture is called Breaking the Mold, with with chefs Heather Carlucci, Mona Talbott, Cheryl Smith, and Gourmet Latino Tastemaster Chef Sue Torres, and moderated by food journalist Charlotte Druckman. It’s 6 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 6th, at the Theresa Lang Center, 55 West 13th St., second floor. Cost is free for students, New School Faculty, staff and alumni with ID, and $5 for everybody else.
