There’s FREE music performances all day Saturday, May 5th at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side. It’s the theater’s annual spring Wall-to-Wall festival, this year celebrating Gertrude Stein’s Paris. Performances start at 11 a.m., and until 11 p.m. There also are readings of some of Stein’s works and other authors interspersed between the music. Sessions are grouped by theme, including cabaret in the afternoon, and jazz in the evening. There is no reserved seating for the free performances — and since this is a popular annual event, you could be standing in line for an hour or more as Symphony Space rotates people in and out of the theater. Guaranteed seating ranges from $100 to $500, which includes a contribution to support Symphony Space — click here to reserve a ticket and also to see the schedule of performers. The theater is at Broadway and 95th Street.
