Biddy Early’s Pub is one of those old-fashioned Irish bars that seem to be vanishing from New York City, with dark wood paneling and the slightly tangy aroma of decades of spilled beer. There’s a daily happy hour that starts at 2 p.m., with $2.50 beers and $3.50 well drinks, and beer pong games popular both with the World Trade Center construction workers and the local office worker crowd. The best deal is the all-day barstool special of a 1/2 pound burger and two beers for $10, available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Biddy Early’s also has a traditional Irish breakfast of sausage, black & white pudding, Irish bacon, eggs and baked beand, plus other Irish favorites like corned beef and cabbage, homemade Irish stew, bangers & mash, and Dublin style fish ‘n’ chips. There’s also some non-traditional menu items such as wraps and paninis. Biddy Early’s pub is at 43 Murray Street, just west of Church St.
