The dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C. is Sunday, August 28th. If you are planning to attend, Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines are urging customers to make reservations now. There is reservation-only service on all schedules between New York City and Washington, D.C. for the weekend, and once a specific bus has sold out, it is taken off the schedule — there are no stand-by seats, as there are on airline flights. The same applies for Megabus, which also has scheduled service between NYC and DC. The bus trip takes approximately five hours. Board Greyhound buses at the New York Port Authority in New York City and at the Greyhound terminal at 1005 1st Street NE in Washington, D.C. Megabus loads at the west side of Ninth Ave, between 31st and 33rd Streets in Manhattan, and at the parking lot at K St. NW and N. Capitol St. NW in Washington.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial will be dedicated in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Aug. 28, the 48th anniversary of his historic “I Have a Dream” speech. The day will begin with a pre-dedication concert at 10 a.m., the dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. and a post-dedication concert at 2 p.m.
