Scarface special event — The 30th anniversary of Scarface, one of the best gangster movies ever made, is being celebrated with a special movie theater screenings on Wednesday, August 31st. Al Pacino as Tony Montana is one of the most ruthless, notorious and scary gangsters ever to terrorize us from a darkened movie theater. The role cemented Al Pacino as a star, even before The Godfather. For one-night only, Scarface is back on the big screen in nearly 500 movie theaters nationwide, including in New York City. The special movie event begins at 7:30 p.m. with a short feature of interviews with popular filmmakers and actors on how thi cult classic has influenced society and filmmaking through the years. AMC Loews Kips Bay, AMC Loews 34th Street, Clearview Cinemas Chelsea, Clearview Cinemas Upper East Side and Regal Union Square Stadium. The Scarface special event is to help promote the movie release on Blu-Ray in September. But it’s also a rare chance to see one of our greatest living actors in one of the best films ever made.
