Southwest, AirTran airfare sale: tickets from $79 one way

Southwest and its sister airline AirTran have launched another airfare sale, with one-way tickets starting at $79. Purchase reduced fare tickets today through Nov. 1, 2012, 11:59 p.m. PT, for domestic travel every day of the week Nov. 16 through Nov. 28, 2012, and Dec. 13, 2012, through Jan. 2, 2013. Blackout dates apply — and those blackout dates are the peak travel days around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Usually such sales are for two or three days, but this time Southwest and AirTran are giving you more than one week to find a cheap airline seat — purchase by Aug. 24, 2012, 11:59 p.m. PT. for travel every day of the week except Sundays, between Aug. 24, 2012, and Feb. 13, 2013 (blackout dates apply). The discounted fares are available on the airline websites — click here for Southwest, click here for AirTran. On sale, a one-way fare between New York’s LaGuardia and Orlando is $114.

Purchase tickets by end-of-day tomorrow, March 1st, for travel by June 7, 2012, esxcept for Memorial Day weekend blackout dates. Airline deal: If you are flying aboard an airplane equipped with Gogo internet service, you will get 30 minutes of free in-air on-line access, through January 1, 2012. But the free internet access won’t let you check your email or the weather. The in-flight freebie from Gogo is only for on-line shopping the Gogo Fly & Buy Holiday Store, for special in-flight discounts and offers from more than a dozen top online retailersm including Barnes & Noble, BestBuy.com, FTD.com, Harry & David, hayneedle.com, JCPenney, Lobster Gram, Omaha Steaks, Wine.com. There are more than 1,200 Gogo-equipped aircraft on airlines including AirTran Airways, Virgin America, Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines, Air Canada, American Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways flights. Too bad this Gogo in-flight internet freebie won’t allow you to access the NYC on the Cheap Daily Deals page, where you’ll find more than 100 shopping deals a day.

AirTran Airways has launched a fare sale for travel starting as low as $59 one way. Cheap seats are available for purchase today through November 14, 2011, 11:59 p.m. PST, for travel beginning November 14, 2011, through Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2012. Of course, the bargain airfares do not apply over the Thanksgiving holidays or the peak Christmas and New Year’s travel period. The tickets also require a ten-day advance purchase, so you can’t getaway this weekend. Purchase tickets on the AirTrain website or from a travel agent, and do it soon, before the bargain airfares are all gone. AirTran is now owned by Southwest Airlines, which also is having an airfare sale, with similar blackout dates and advance purchase requirements. I found flights as low as $99 each way between NYC’s LaGuardia and Ft. Myers, $104 to Ft. Lauderdale, $127 to West Palm Beach, and $132 to Denver for us skiers and snowboarders. Here are some other example one-way airfare sale prices –

$59 one-way between Atlanta and Orlando
$123 one-way between Boston and Ft. Myers, FL
$124 one-way between Indianapolis and Orlando

Southwest Airlines has launched an airfare sale, advertising prices as low as $59. But that’s for relatively short-haul flights, such as between Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham. . I just looked at fares between NYC and Denver on a Wednesday — usually the lowest priced travel day of the week — in mid-August. The lowest Southwest price I could find was $124 each way in and out of Newark Liberty (EWR), which is still a great bargain at under $300 a round-trip, after taxes and other fees on top of the $124 fare.. LaGuardia-Denver flights cost a bit more. Purchase Southwest Airlines sale priced tickets before 11:59 p.m. PDT August 1, 2011, for travel between August 23rd and December 14th. So book your late summer and fall getaway now.

This is a good deal all around – roundtrip airfare to Tokyo and four nights hotel, for $780. Plus, $50 of that $780 will be donated to the Japan Consulate-General for charities supporting Japan’s recovery efforts from the recent earthquake and tsunami. You have to book this deal by May 31st, and travel in June. This Japan travel deal can be booked through one of six of Japan’s top travel agencies and tour operators. This $780 deal is good for flights from NYC, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Honolulu.
