There’s also reduced rate parking. The hotel is at 129 West 46th St., in the heart of the NYC Theater District, just a short walk from Times Square. This is a great family hotel, since children to age 12 stay free in the same room as a paying adult.

The Hotel Wolcott, 4 West 31st St. is on a quiet block a short walk from the Empire State Building and Broadway. Guestrooms have private bath and an in-room safe. There’s a fitness center, and free coffee and muffins in the morning. Rates start at $183.

Rooms at chic and trendy The Jane start at $99. That’s for a ship-size single cabin room with a shared bath. There also are two-person cabins with shared bath for $125. The Jane is a 1907 hotel in Greenwich Village re-opened recently after a full renovation, located a short walk from the equally trendy Highline and the Hudson River, so even though the cabin rooms are tiny, NYC’s great outdoors is at your front door. There also are larger Captain’s Cabins, with private bathrooms, for $250/night instead of the usual $350 per night. Also, the deal includes FREE wi-fi, but no free breakfast, and each room has a 23″ LCD television, DVD player and an iPod dock.
