Reminder that today and tomorrow are the last two days for the Rent the Runway clearance sale, which ends Saturday, Oct. 6th. Rent the Runway rents top designer special occasion duds you know you’ll wear only once. Twice a year, they sell off the current season collection of lovingly worn red carpet dresses, dressy separates and accessories. The fall 2012 Sample Sale includes merchandise from Badgley Mischka, Catherine Malandrino, David Meister, Nicole Miller, Rebecca Taylor, and more, at prices up to 95% off original retail. The sample sale is at 260SampleSale, the huge storefront at 260 Fifth Avenue that has become a favorite spot for designer sample sales and clearance sales. Hours are generally 11 am to 7 p.m. weekdays and 11-4 on Saturday. We say “generally” because 260SampleSale doesn’t advertise and generally doesn’t answer its phone. Cash and credit cards only, and all sales final. Expect to check your purse at the entrance, so wear something with pockets for your valuables.
