There’s still time to register and participate in the 23rd annual NYC Century Bike Tour, on Sunday, September 9th. The event offers rides for all levels of expertise and stamina — novices (15 miles), intermediate riders (35 to 55 miles) or seasoned bikers (75 to 100 miles). The ride is sponsored by Transportation Alternatives, the pro-biking group, which also is providing experienced riders as marshals to guide the group through NYC street traffic. Whether you join the tour in Central Park or Prospect Park, and however long the distance you ride, the finish line is in Central Park. Participants are automatically entered to win a Trek Bicycle. Register on the NYC Century Bike Tour website, where there also is additional information on discount bike rentals for the tour if you don’t have one of your own, and which tour is suitable for families — hint — it’s the Central Park loop.
